Come explore this hidden gem right in the metro area in river rafts. Park naturalists will guide the way and there will be several stops to experience river life from a different perspective. We’ll explore little-visited islands and back channels while getting an up close look at birds, rocks and river critters.
We’ll depart from the West Coon Rapids Dam in Brooklyn Park for an all-day adventure down the Mississippi River. No paddling experience necessary but some paddling and lifting is required. We enter and exit the rafts from the water and paddle with one leg in the water so you will get wet. Wear closed toe shoes that can get wet. Bring sunscreen, a hat, a packable lunch, snacks and a filled water bottle. Shuttle and all equipment provided. Trip details will be provided closer to the departure date.The course cost is $55 and includes course manuals and supplies.
