Come help collect native prairie seed at Hastings Sand Coulee SNA, located within a 2.5 mile-long valley once occupied by a glacial stream that now supports the most significant dry prairie in Dakota County. Join contract naturalist, Sara Holger, in collecting seeds to be used in future prairie restoration projects.

Tools, instructions, and good camaraderie will be provided. Bring water, snacks, and dress for working in the weather. If you have your own gloves you'd like to use, please bring those as well. Footwear appropriate for outdoor work/hiking is recommended. There are no maintained trails, public restrooms nor access to drinking water on this site.

Directions From Hastings 2.4 miles southeast on MN Hwy 316. Park in lot on the southwest (left), just past guard rail.
