Come help native prairie seed at Pin Oak Prairie SNA along the Root River's Middle Branch. This site supports a high-quality sedge meadow, an oak-shagbark hickory woodland, and one of the last and largest remnants of dry barrens prairie in southeast Minnesota. Join contract naturalist, Sara Holger, in collecting seeds to be used in future prairie restoration projects.

Tools, instructions, and good camaraderie will be provided. Bring water, lunch, and dress for working in the weather. If you have your own gloves you'd like to use, please bring those as well. Footwear appropriate for outdoor work/hiking is recommended. There are no maintained trails, public restrooms nor access to drinking water on this site.

Directions From Chatfield 4 miles SW on Co Rd 5, then .07 mile S on Twp Rd 332 (Morgan Rd). Park in pull-off on E.
