Lichens Speak - Science and Art tell the story website

3600 Hennepin Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55408

Bde Mah Kaska, Heyata Othunwe, and Lakewood Cemetery all share this treasured space in Minneapolis. It is just the reflective place to learn important information from lichens.

U of MN Lichenologist Natalia Koch will give an update on her lichen research and engage each participant in a citizen-science project to gather data for her research.

Lakewood Artist-in-Residence, Alyssa Gregory, will speak about her lichen-based artwork.

Participants will take home copies of Abby Glauser’s lichen illustrations, designed for future lichen curriculum.

Lakewood is also an Arboretum, and class will photograph lichens on a designated tree-walk and help create a MN Lichen Trail at Lakewood. A memorable day with science & art at historic Lakewood Cemetery.

Box lunch, coffee, tea, water and snacks will be provided.

The course cost is $45 and includes course manuals and supplies.
