Curious about the connection between on loons, clean water, and watershed conservation? Staff from the Northern Waters Land Trust will join the NLC for this workshop to answer your questions on long-term land protection and watershed approaches to preserving wildlife habitat. This workshop is perfect for MN Master Naturalists, lakeshore property owners to learn how they can protect their land, and anyone interested in lakes and loons!

Experiences during the workshop: -View nesting territories of loons & observe loon behavior -Secchi disk water clarity demonstration -Visit conservation easement and habitat acquisition sites -Visit lakes classified as Lakes of Outstanding Biological Significance, observing the biodiversity on these waters

This is an in-person workshop taking place on board the loon pontoon, the StewardShip, and departing from the Cross Lake Recreation Area. We'll visit different sections of the Whitefish Chain, tentatively Big Trout, Rush, and Lower Whitefish Lakes.

This workshop is the last session of this series, bringing all the themes together within the big picture of the watershed!
