Curious about how we monitor water quality to help keep lakes clean for loons and other wildlife? Staff from the Crow Wing Soil & Water Conservation District will join the NLC for this workshop to answer your questions about water quality and water monitoring. This workshop is perfect for MN Master Naturalists, active volunteer water monitors, and anyone interested in lakes and loons!
Experiences during the workshop:
-View nesting territories of loons
-Observe early season and nesting behaviors of loons
-Secchi disk water clarity demonstration
-Interactive demonstration on water quality testing equipment including a sonde
This is an in-person workshop taking place on board the loon pontoon, the StewardShip, and departing from the Cross Lake Recreation Area. We'll visit different sections of the Whitefish Chain, tentatively Cross, Rush, and Lower Whitefish Lakes.
This workshop is session 3 of a four part workshop series. Attend all sessions for the full experience!
