This spring, join the University of Minnesota Department of Forest Resources Resources in their quest to determine which of three Bur Oak (Q. Macrocarpa) ecotypes are the most resilient to Minnesota’s rapidly changing climate. You will help “budding” M.S. student Jesse Wolk measure and record height, diameter, crown width, and more for approximately 3,000 10-year-old bur oak saplings. Jesse will be at the Woodbury, Lino Lakes, Lindstrom, and Maplewood plot locations almost every day this March and into April from sunrise to sundown. If interested in assisting, please reach out to wolk0037@umn.edu, or call 608-459-0788, with preferred dates, times, locations, questions, and concerns.
