ADV - Introduction to Birding

Introduction to Birding website

13351 Elm Creek Road
Dayton, MN 55369

This is part of a series of "Introductions" for those who want to start at ground level and build a foundation. Enroll in one, two or all three sessions at Eastman Nature Center this summer. Other sessions will be on trees and prairie plants.

We will cover the unique biology and adaptations of birds as well as basic bird ID skills. There will be a section on tools like binoculars, apps and resources for Minnesota bird natural history. We will spend about an hour practicing bird identification in the field, but it will be focused on the bird identification process vs. adding to a bird list. We will travel on turf trails and walk about one mile. Reservations required by 24 hours prior.

The course cost is $12 and includes course manuals and supplies.
