Wolf Ridge Naturalists, collaborating with other North Shore experts, are excited to host you in this fully-immersive. week-long North Woods, Great Lakes Biome Course. Focused on field experiences and meaningful capstone projects, we will explore hidden gems and tucked away wild spaces while learning about the Lake Superior watershed, lichens, bird banding, and ecological connections. Explore wetlands, cliff communities, upland forests and the Baptism River watershed not commonly found by tourists. You'll learn essential Naturalist Practices, too, with tools, and skills for further exploration in any biome.

This program is designed to meet all ages and abilities. Whether you are a North Shore expert or beginner, Wolf Ridge Naturalists will be able to offer you new ecological perspectives.

Wolf Ridge is a private, non-profit Outdoor School that has been providing programming for all ages since 1971. Instructors will include Wolf Ridge Naturalists Joe Walewski and Charlie Pavlisich. Joe is the author of two Northwoods field guides and has over 20 years of leading the naturalist graduate program at Wolf Ridge. Charlie is a lifelong resident of the North Shore, former high school teacher, and has deep knowledge of the Lake Superior ecosystem.

Registration fee includes programming at and near Wolf Ridge's stunning ridgetop campus, all course materials and supplies. Meals and lodging available for an additional fee. A Sunday evening arrival will allow an early start Monday morning. Check-out is Saturday morning to accommodate the Friday evening graduation celebration.

The course cost is $395 and includes course manuals and supplies.
