ADV - Forest Bathing
Como Woodland Outdoor Classroom website
Wynne AvenueSt. Paul, MN 55108
Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Come slow down, de-stress from your daily routine, and deepen your connection to nature. It is different from other nature experiences such as hiking or birding; in forest bathing, we will be slowing down with intentionality and engaging all of our senses through some activities. Give your mind and body some time to rest, wander and wonder in nature.
Join Kristen Mastel, Certified Forest Therapy Guide and Outreach Librarian, to discover “Forest Bathing†(The Art of Shinrin-yoku), what it is, along with its health and wellness benefits.
The class will include an introduction to forest bathing techniques as well as the opportunity to spend time implementing the techniques learned.
Trails are a mixture of gravel and paved but are primarily flat or a low incline. The class will take place entirely outdoors. In case of severe weather, the class will take place the following day, April 24. Bring water and a camp chair if desired as the only seating available is a low stone wall. There is a porta-potty near the parking lot but no indoor bathroom facilities.
Meet at Joyce Kilmer Memorial Fireplace at Como Woodland Outdoor Classroom
Parking is on Wynne Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108, just west of Como Regional Pool and across from McMurray Fields. Google Maps places the marker for the Woodland at the NW corner, not at the entrance. “Twin Cities Soccer Club Field†is the closest landmark in Google Maps.
The course cost is $35 and includes course manuals and supplies.
