Join Great River Greening at Belle Prairie County Park in Morrison County. We will be working in a restored oak savanna. Buckthorn that previously blanketed the site was cleared out. Follow up control of buckthorn is important to ensure that it doesn’t come back. Buckthorn, when left unchecked, will outcompete other shrubs and young trees, preventing natural regeneration from occurring.

Register with GRG at https://www.greatrivergreening.org/events Volunteers can expect an easy, flat walk to and from the parking area adjacent to the work area. Bathroom facilities are ~0.25 miles from the work site so walking and/or driving from the work site may be required.

This is a family-friendly event. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary, we will provide the tools and training required.

There will also be light snacks and extra water available, however, please bring your own reusable water bottle and any additional snacks you may need.

Once you have registered via GivePulse, organizers from Great River Greening will approve your registration and you will receive confirmation. You will continue to receive event reminders as the event nears.
