Morels

Morchella esculenta

Considered a rare and tasty treat, morels are roughly 2-6 inches tall, with a spongy, hollow, pitted, wrinkled cap in shades of brown. The morel became the state's mushroom in 1984, and at that time, no other state had an official fungus.
