ADV - An Intro to Climate Science for Minnesotans

Are you interested in learning more about the science behind climate change? Join atmospheric scientist Dr. Sam Potter for a special two-night class to deepen your understanding of this hot-button topic! The first session will cover the basics of climate science, both historically and in the present day. The second session will focus on the impacts of climate change on Minnesota and the Midwest. Everyone is encouraged to attend -- all topics will be presented for a general audience and no science degree is necessary. Attendance at both sessions (August 21st and August 23rd) is required.
The course cost is $30 and includes course manuals and supplies.

Dr. Potter is the education and outreach coordinator at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve. Her background is in wildlife ecology, and she holds a B.S. in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology as well as a masters and Ph.D in ecology and evolutionary biology. She studied wildlife and animal behavior all over the world (mostly monkeys in Ethiopia) before finding her true passion doing environmental education! Now, she runs school field trips and public events at CCESR, works with scientists to get their results into the hands of students, and organizes several citizen science projects.
