This advanced training at the Bell Museum of Natural History lays the foundation for Master Naturalist volunteers to lead informal education programs at nature centers, zoos and museums. Participants will learn how to interpret natural artifacts to share their love and knowledge of Minnesota natural history with children of all ages and their families.
Upon completion of the training participants will be able to:
• Understand the importance and value of hands-on, object-based learning
• Identify different methods to interact with museum and nature center visitors of all ages
• Use artifacts commonly found in museums and nature centers to encourage further inquiry and interest in Minnesota’s natural history.
• Use effective communication and simple group management techniques to successfully engage visitors in observation skills and science-based activities
The course fee includes course materials, education resources, and lunch.
The course cost is $20 and includes course manuals and supplies as well as parking on site. The class would normally cost $50, but is being subsidized by a LCCMR grant. Please indicate a meal preference; vegetarian, gluten-free, etc., on registration form.

Instructor Information
Britt Forsberg (she/her/hers) is an Extension Educator with the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program. She holds a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College and an MEd in Family Education from the University of Minnesota. Within the Minnesota Master Naturalist program, Britt develops and leads advanced training opportunities that lead to volunteer service. When she's not working, you may find her hiking with her nose to the ground to look for bees and other pollinators or wrangling her rambunctious toddler, Wren.
